The core area where fluidization takes place.
Made of stainless steel with high heat resistance and corrosion protection.
Includes sieves or perforated plates that hold the materials while allowing hot air to pass through.
Generates high-pressure airflow to move the material and create the fluidized state.
Equipped with air filters to ensure clean air enters the chamber.
Usually electric or gas-heated, supplying thermal energy to the incoming air before it enters the drying chamber.
Used to spray binder solutions or other liquids onto the material to aid granulation.
May feature top-spray or bottom-spray designs depending on the machine configuration.
Removes fine dust before releasing air into the environment, ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
Allows operators to run and monitor the drying process, adjusting parameters such as temperature, airflow, spray rate, and drying time.
The outlet where the final dried or granulated material is collected.
When heated air is blown through a layer of material (powder or granules), it creates a “fluidized” state, causing the particles to move as if they were a flowing liquid.
The hot air evaporates moisture inside the material, reducing the moisture content to the desired level.
A binder solution is sprayed during fluidization, causing powder particles to agglomerate into uniformly sized granules.
Fluid Bed Dryer Granulator FBDG-5, manufactured by T&T MACHINERY, is designed for laboratory use. It is highly suitable for research and development of new formulations, helping to save raw materials, allowing easy adjustments to formulas and processes, and facilitating the transition to industrial-scale production.
The fluid bed dryer & granulator used in R&D is a widely adopted equipment in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic-chemical industries.
✔️ Drying chamber made of stainless steel 304/316L, polished, GMP-compliant design.
✔️ Integrated PLC/HMI for automatic setting and monitoring.
✔️ Optional WIP/CIP (automatic washing) system to prevent cross-contamination.
Fluidization principle: Powder or granules are placed in the drying chamber. Heated air is blown upward at a velocity high enough to “lift” the particles into suspension → creating a “fluidized bed” state.
Granulation: Binder solution is sprayed from the top (top spray) or bottom (bottom spray) → fine powder particles adhere to each other, forming wet granules → drying takes place inside the chamber → producing uniform granules with controlled moisture.
Small scale:
Material saving: Reduces waste compared to large-scale production.
Process simulation: Parameters (temperature, airflow, spray rate, pressure) mimic full-scale production → easy scale-up.
Easy assembly and cleaning → ideal for research with multiple formulations.
Fluid Bed Dryer Granulator FBDG-5 - Ex Atex manufactured by T&T MACHINERY is a specialized equipment for research & development of formulations in the Pharmaceutical – Food – Cosmetic industries. The machine is designed to meet GMP standards, integrated with ATEX certification for critical components, ensuring maximum safety when operating in environments with explosion risks.
Drying–granulating chamber in SS316L: polished surface, anti-sticking, easy to clean.
Fluidized air distribution system: hot air blown from the bottom, keeping powder in continuous, fluidized motion.
Top-spray nozzle: mounted on the top of the chamber, spraying binder solution downward onto the powder bed.
10-inch touch screen (ATEX certified): controls and monitors all operating parameters.
Explosion-proof lighting and electrical cabinet (ATEX certified): ensuring safety in the drying chamber and electrical area.
Temperature probe (ATEX certified): precise and stable temperature monitoring.
Multi-stage air filters (G4, F8, HEPA EU13): protecting both product and environment.
Mobile design: easy to assemble, disassemble, and move, suitable for laboratory use.
Fluidization: Hot air is introduced from the bottom of the chamber, keeping the powder mass in continuous fluidized motion.
Binder spraying: The top-spray system continuously sprays binder solution downward onto the powder. Droplets coat the powder particles, creating adhesion.
Granule formation: Under simultaneous drying and spraying, small particles bond together into uniform granules with controlled moisture and size.
Final drying: The hot air flow continues to remove residual moisture, resulting in dry, porous granules that fully comply with GMP standards.
