Introduction to the Herbal Extractor and Concentrator System

The Herbal Extractor and Concentrator System is specialized equipment used in the pharmaceutical, traditional medicine, and functional food industries. It extracts active ingredients from medicinal herbs and then concentrates the extract to obtain a solution with a high concentration of active compounds, saving solvents and improving production efficiency.

Main Components

  • Extraction Tank: Heats the herbs with solvents (such as water, ethanol, methanol, etc.) to extract the active ingredients.

  • Condenser: Cools down the vaporized solvent and condenses it back into liquid form.

  • Solvent Recovery Tank: Collects the condensed solvent for reuse in the extraction process.

  • Concentrator: After extraction, the solution is transferred to the concentrator (usually a vacuum concentrator), which evaporates part of the solvent, thickening the extract without damaging heat-sensitive active ingredients.

  • Vacuum Pump: Lowers the pressure to reduce the boiling point, allowing extraction and concentration at lower temperatures, thus protecting sensitive compounds.

  • Automatic Control System: Monitors and adjusts temperature, pressure, and processing time.

Working Principle

  • Extraction:
The herbs are cooked in the solvent → active compounds dissolve into the solvent → forming the herbal extract solution.

  • Solvent Recovery:
The solvent vapor is cooled down → condensed back into liquid → collected and circulated back to the extraction tank for reuse, saving solvent and reducing environmental impact.

  • Concentration:
The extract solution is transferred to the concentrator → excess water or solvent is evaporated under reduced pressure → producing a concentrated extract with a high content of active ingredients.
